What Is Firewall Service Not Started?

1: Press Windows + R on your keyboard to activate the Run window. Type services. MSC in the Run box and click OK. Go to Services and find Firewall Service.

If you don’t see it, then right-click on Services and select New > Service. Name it “Microsoft Firewall” and click OK. Now go to Startup type > select Automatic. Click Apply > OK.

2: Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > double-click Services. Find the Microsoft firewall and double-click it > Stop the service if it was running (if it was running) or select the Start option > Apply > OK. 

Then start Microsoft firewall by double-clicking it again or selecting the Start option. Now check if your problem has been solved by using Internet Explorer or other applications.

That requires network access, such as Skype, Teamviewer, LogMeIn, etc. also, and just restart your PC to see whether your Firewall Service Not Started problem has disappeared. If not, go to Step 3 below.

3: Go to the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc folder by typing this path in the Run dialog box (Windows + R). Open Windows Registry Editor by pressing Windows + R key combination.

Then, type Regedit and hit Enter key to open the Registry Editor window. Navigate (from left pane) through HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services folder and locate exception1 value in right pane (exception1 key). 

Right-click on the exception1 key and select Delete from the menu or press the Delete button on your keyboard. Click Yes when you see the message “Do you want to delete this key?” 

After deleting the exception1 value reboot the PC for changes to take effect.
