Cyber Bot, is it worth it?
You might have seen a bunch of cyber bots popping up lately, especially on social media platforms. Are these real or fake? What are they exactly and how much are they worth?
Perhaps the easiest way to start is by explaining what a cyber bot is.
A cyber bot or a bot is a program that runs automated tasks. These programs can run tasks on their own or they can be controlled externally. Either way, they have the same basic functionality. They run automated tasks without human intervention.
Cyber bots are software which runs automated tasks on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media sites. These bots are for various purposes such as to increase website traffic, to make websites look more popular than they really are and for other marketing purposes.
How much does a cyber bot cost?
As with any software, their price can vary depending on how complex they are. Simple bots which just retweet messages from another account should be worth around $50-$100. Some bots are more progressive is more than $1,000. There are also some free bots available online but these usually have limited functionality.
So how much do you think it costs to run a cyber bot?
If you base the price on what these bots are really worth, then the answer is nothing. When you buy a bot you are essentially paying for the time and effort it takes to put them together but their functionality has limits. Their value is just about zero. This is one of the main reasons why you will find that most of these bots get banned on social media sites after a while.
However, there are some bots which are in high demand and they are not free at all. There are some very expensive bots which have even been sold for more than $10,000 each! These bots, however, have a very specialized functionality and they usually have very complex algorithms, making them difficult to create.
How can I tell if a cyber bot is fake or not?
You can spot many cyber bots by paying attention to their tweets and retweets. They often use very similar text in many tweets and their retweets also look similar. If you see two or three tweets from the same account with exactly the same text that was posted only minutes before then it’s highly likely that this account is a bot.
Another way to spot cyber bots is by looking at who they follow on Twitter. Many of these bots follow thousands of people but only follow a few accounts themselves. This means that their followers will be more interested in reading tweets from accounts that the bot follows than from accounts that it follows itself (which might be new accounts with only one tweet).
Most Twitter users know how hard it is to gain followers so they will not be interested in following an account which has only one tweet under its belt with no followers of its own (most likely because it’s a new account). The best followers for an account like this would be other spam accounts who also like to spam users’ timelines with messages such as “like my page”.
The type of content posted by cyber bots
One thing that you might notice when someone uses cyber bots to promote his website or products is that he doesn’t actually post much good content himself when he’s using bots. It’s usually just linked to his site and repetitive tweets about his products or website.
Bots can help increase your site traffic but if your content isn’t very good then you won’t get any repeat visitors to your site anyway because they’ll never click on any of your links.
