General Data Protection Office 365

The General Data Protection Office (GDPR) is a European Union regulation that came into law on the 25th of May, 2018. Also, the GDPR is to give citizens more control over their data and how companies are to use it.

The General Data Protection Office 365 is a new way of managing Office 365 and Azure Active Directory.

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation that was in April 2016 and will come into force on 25 May 2018. It impacts any organization that handles the personal data of people in the European Union (EU).

The GDPR is to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, protect and empower all EU citizens’ data privacy and reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.

Implementation and Setup

Office 365 E3 is a subscription service that is for running business applications or tools. There are three versions of this service, namely Business, Business Premium, and Enterprise. 

It is a subscription-based service that allows users to pay a monthly fee to access the services. Each service provides different features that apply to different business sizes. Office 365 is available in over 100 countries and 19 languages.

Office 365 is on the Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SharePoint. Also, Skype for Business platforms, give all users access to email, document storage, and sharing capabilities across multiple devices. 

Other features include Yammer and Microsoft Teams – a chat-based workspace built on top of Skype for Business. Office 365 has built-in backup, archiving, and disaster recovery solutions. 

Users can choose to upgrade to a more advanced version of Office 365. Such as Office 365 ProPlus or Microsoft Project and Visio Pro for Office 365, depending on the business needs.

Setup and Configuration

Office 365 uses the Azure Active Directory authentication service to control access to all the services within a subscription. Azure Active Directory also provides Single Sign-on for all the services within a subscription, making it easier to manage access for all users. 

Users in the Guest role have access to only a few of the Office 365 services. Guest Users cannot sign in to any services with a Microsoft account, such as Outlook.com, OneDrive, or Skype for Business Online. 

Guest Users can only sign in to services that do not use Azure Active Directory for authentication, such as the Office Online web apps.

Entitlements and Licenses

Users do not require a license for the Office 365 services. Instead, they have a “per-user” or “per-device” license if they have added their email address to the account

So, this is an “unlimited” license. This allows users to install Office on as many devices and use it for as long as they want.
