Cloudflare Gateway for Home is a router that uses the Cloudflare server network to protect all the devices on your home network. This includes your smart TV and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Cloudflare is a web performance and security company that provides content delivery network (CDN) services.
Using Cloudflare your website has more visibility, is more secure, and faster, and requires fewer resources. Also, Cloudflare will hide your IP address and convert your website name. If you are using Cloudflare to protect your website then it’s best to use its IP address as your website address so everyone will access it from the Cloudflare network.
Cloudflare can protect up to 100 domain names. You can add more domain names by paying a fee. For example, if you have 2 domain names then you have to pay $20/month for it.
However, if you have 100 domain names then you have to pay $200/month for it. The price depends on the number of domains that you have registered with sky cure or Cloudflare or any other provider. So, Cloudflare can protect up to 5 websites with their free plan but they will not hide your IP address using their free plan.
If you want to hide your IP address then you need to shell out $20 per month per website. Since it is not expensive at all considering the benefits that you get from it.
How Much Does Cloudflare Cost?
Cloudflare is not free but you can use their free account to test the service out before you buy their $20/month plan. If you have more than 15,000 visitors a month then Cloudflare will charge you $200/month for the services that they provide. Setup is very simple and easy and no technical knowledge is needed at all, just like any other router/modem.
We use it in our homes today except this one will be used for Cloudflare services.
1) Plug the gateway in and connect it to your modem via ethernet cable or WiFi if preferred, plug your modem into power if it does not do so automatically.
2) Go to the site Cloudflare-gateway and enter the MAC address printed on the bottom of the gateway into the textbox provided. Then Click the’ Update’ button on the bottom right-hand corner of the page, wait for the page to refresh and your gateway should appear in the list of gateways under ‘My Account.’

It’s a small device that sits behind a modem and connects directly to the internet via ethernet cable or WiFi. It can be connected directly via WiFi or ethernet cable to the modem or router or both. That is if required depending on what suits you better in your setup situation at home.
